Free Little Art Gallery
Sudbury’s very own Free Little Art Gallery has been installed outside the Goodnow Library. Coming in from the back parking lot, you can’t miss it. The gallery will be on your right just before the drive-up book drop!
Anyone is invited to create small art pieces (generally no larger than 4”x4”) to be placed in the gallery. Just like a Little Free Library in which visitors can both take and leave books, visitors to the Free Little Art Gallery are invited to both take and leave art. You do not need to leave anything in order to take art.
Currently supply kits are also being left in the gallery for visitors to take courtesy of Take+Create (and a grant from the Sudbury Cultural Council) and eventually this will be moved to a supply box below the gallery.
A big thank you to Ferrell Mackey and Esme Green from the Goodnow Library for your support, as well as Beau Schless for building the gallery, Kevin Shaw for his help with lighting and installation, and Larry Jodrey for installation. We could not have done this without you.
And we are grateful to the Sherman Family and the Goodnow Library Foundation for the Sara Sherman NOW Lab whose tools and machines created the signage.
Don’t live near the Sudbury but want to contribute? Art can be mailed to The Sara Sherman NOW Lab, Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Road, Sudbury, MA 01776 and we will be happy to place your art in the gallery!

ART For ALL
Art for all is a Sudbury Art Association initiative under our Community Art Connection program to promote access to creative materials.
SAA is raising funds to make kits that will be full of art supplies. These supplies will include everything from crayons to oil pastels, sketchbooks to modeling clay and will be distributed to areas of underserved populations. SAA will work with the town social worker to best identify these areas.
Our goal, for our first year, is to make and distribute 100 ART For ALL kits . We plan to do this by providing volunteers who will go into the community to provide creative experiences to organizations who are willing to donate to the cause.
We would like to extend a big thank you to Sudbury Extended Day for being the first organization to step up to the challenge. They have donated $1,800 to Art For All and SAA has provided creative experiences for each of their six sites. It has been a wonderful experience visiting each of their sites and engaging with the students through art. A win win for the students, for SAA, and for those who will have the opportunity for personal creative expression through the art kits.
It takes approximately $20 dollars to create one ART For ALL packet! If you would like to help us reach and go beyond our goal of 100 packets please consider making a donation to this worthy project.
