New Location,

To be determined

TYPICAL VISITING ARTIST WEEKS:

NOTE: This will not be figured out until we have a location and we know how many weeks we will be open

VISITING ARTISTS Info Page and Application

Please apply by Friday October 18th

What are Visiting Artists (VAs)? VAs are members of the SAA who participate in our annual Holiday Market for 1 week instead of the full 5+ weeks. This is the perfect opportunity for artists who: are new to HM, travel during the holidays, might not have enough inventory to participate for number of weeks, etc.

For HM2024:

  • VA’s will setup up their display the night before their week and take down their display on the last evening of their week. The outgoing VA needs to work with the incoming VA for a smooth transition. Everything must be removed from the store by Dec 28.

  • VA’s will commit to working 2 shifts at the Holiday Market (this means working the store helping with wrapping and bagging purchases, door greeter, opening/closing duties, and other store related work - it’s fun!)

  • A 6 foot table will be in place for quicker transition

  • 3 Steps:

    • Application Due: October 18th, 2024

    • Upload 5 photos of the work you plan to sell

    • non-refundable $100 payment - link will be sent once we’ve worked out a schedule.

Guideline Review

If you are a member and interested in participating, please read the following guidelines:

  1. You must be an SAA member (membership does not guarantee acceptance)

  2. All work must be handmade by the artist. Resale is not permitted

  3. Prior participation does not guarantee entry

  4. This is a cooperative event and the SAA does not take a commission on the sales of the Holiday Market. We only take the credit card/square fees. Visiting Artists are expected to work 2 shifts. Artists are expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to their morning shift and stay 15 minutes to help close an evening shift.

  5. Artists are expected to setup their displays during the designated setup time, keep their space stocked and neat throughout their week, and to remove all belongings and debris during the breakdown time.

  6. All artists are expected to help advertise and spread the word about the event - and not just about the artist’s own work, but sharing the work of fellow SAA artists. (We will have postcards, yard signs, social media postings to distribute) Providing video is a plus!

  7. Your week will be assigned in a way to accommodate the fullest schedule. If there are too many artists for the same week, a lottery will take place.
